Hey there skydivers and adventure enthusiasts!
We experienced months of delays and frustration due to the Spanish company’s incapacity to resolve their technical and operational issues. As a result, we decided to take matters into our own hands. Instead of wasting more time waiting for solutions that never came, we embarked on our own hot-air balloon project! Built from scratch, designed to meet skydiving-specific needs, and piloted by our Chief Instructor, Iwan.
This journey has been anything but easy. Starting from zero, we tackled the design, production, and financing while overcoming a mountain of challenges. We underwent rigorous technical inspections, commissions, and approvals, pushing through every hurdle. But as anyone dealing with the Spanish administration knows, the worst part is the paperwork. We could probably write a thick book of memories. It might be a resistance manual on navigating bureaucratic obstacles! 😉
One of the biggest challenges – apart from fighting for financial matters – was Iwan obtaining his hot-air balloon pilot license. This was no easy feat – it required months of intensive training, hard practice flights, theory courses, and demanding examinations. It wasn’t just about taking trips. It was a serious commitment of time, dedication, and financial resources. The licensing process involved significant costs, from course fees to equipment rental and travel for exams. Iwan’s perseverance helped him continue despite the challenges. His passion for this project kept him going. Now, he is fully certified to pilot our balloon.
Now, here’s the good news: everything is set up! We are preparing for our test flights to check transponder performance and communication systems. As we prioritize safety, these test flights will be followed by flying permissions processing and demo jumps.
All of this is to ensure that we deliver the best possible experience for you. We’re getting closer to offering official balloon skydiving dates – and we can’t wait to share this adventure with you!
